A Snail in a Trehaus in Milan

We have some excellent news, one of our very own snails Michelle Huertas and her own company Trehaus will  be exhibiting her new furniture collection at the Milan Furniture Fair this month.

Trēhaus was established in 2010 as a side project while Michelle was an interior designer in Sydney. Her search for a more sustainable and conscious lifestyle led her to start designing and creating in an attempt to re-use, re-make and re-store rather than buying the new and un-sustainable products that where available in stores.  Her recent move to Ruawai in NZ gave her the time and the freedom to create on a daily basis. This lead to the launch of her brand Trēhaus, which focuses on being responsible in the design and creation of furniture and everyday items. Michelle uses a slow design principles at every step of her process, whether sourcing materials, shipping, promoting or manufacturing. Each step is considered from the three sustainability benchmarks: environmental sustainability, social sustainability and economic sustainability. Michelle’s belief in making good quality, reasonably priced, classic products which stay in style, has enabled her to create a brand focused on exactly this.

To learn more about Michelle and Trehaus you can visit thetrehaus.com. Some images of the collection are shown below and to view the full range of products which will be exhibited this year you can have a look at the catalogue.
A big Congratulations to Michelle once again for this amazing success, we can’t wait to hear all about it when she gets back. And if you happen to be in the vicinity of Milan from April 21st – 24th make sure you check out Trehaus at the Salone Internazionale di Mobile (Furniture Fair).
Hope you enjoyed a slow Easter Break!
